ABOUT RWB JAPAN

RWB/RAUH-Welt BEGRIFF is a Porsche tuner located in Japan. Akira Nakai-San, the founder, operates from a countryside body-shop in a town called Chiba-Ken and to this date he is still working from the same premises where the original concept of wide-body cars took hold. From here he created a distinct style of wide-bodied Porsches which have the combination of both Japanese and Euro tuning elements which have become a common sight on both the street and racing circuits of Japan and have expanded to every corner of the earth.

Nakai-San made a name for himself racing the Toyota AE86 tuning scene, taking it to the next level slamming his AE86. Running negative camber, he went to the next level by adding super-sized arches and wheels, this was the birth of RWB.

Nakai-San’s keen interest in the air-cooled Porsches and his unique design means that every car will have its own distinct touch; personalising the build for its proud owners. RWB is not your everyday conversion because every conversion kit is hand crafted and to a standard equivalent to an OEM product. His personal touch separates him from the rest and if it’s not built by Nakai-San himself then it’s not an RWB.

ABOUT RWB UK

RWB UK came into existence soon after Jag and Raj Jagdev, father and son, and Directors of Profusion Customs, a stainless-steel exhaust fabrication company commissioned their first build which took place in August 2016.

After sending many emails and calling different people around the world it took them over a year to make contact with Toshi-San who is the international business development director for RWB, and from there the journey began. They purchased their first ever Porsche a 1991 964 manual in showroom condition. Now, the thought of chopping this up to make an RWB would deter many people and enthusiasts, however this was not an option and they couldn’t wait to see it being cut and re-born into an RWB icon.

RWB cars are based on passion and are not meant to be seen as a money-making tool. Watching Nakai-San work makes you realise this is a man who is totally dedicated to his craft, an automotive artist who uses the car owner’s emotion and personality to create and design the final outcome. The RWB creations cannot be just bought over the internet to install yourself, because every car around the world will only be built by Akira Nakai-San personally. His work creating super-aggressive Porsches has an almost cult like following worldwide.

PROCESS OF
OWNING AN RWB

OK, so you are considering owning an RWB? That’s great news! Let me highlight the process. Firstly, do you have a suitable 911, 964 or 993? If you do then you have cleared the first hurdle, if not contact us and we can help find one for you.

The next step is to arrange a meeting and sit down with your RWB partner who will be able to go through all options open to you. This will depend on how you plan to use your car and your budget, and whilst they can make recommendations, the final call is yours as it will be your car.

Once you have made your selection an order will be sent to Japan head office who will also confirm a date when Nakai-San can build your car for you. There is a queue system which also depends on logistics, such as getting to your country. You are then added to an exclusive group chat with all RWB owners.

People often ask if a conversion kit can be supplied and fitted yourself, unfortunately not, as all builds are conducted by Nakai-San himself. It doesn’t matter where in the world the car is located, he will fly there.

The conversion kit usually takes a few months from order date to the time it is manufactured according to your order. Once the kit is ready, it will be posted to your address where you will have an opportunity to have it painted to your colour of choice. It is imperative to have the vehicle painted and completely ready to have the conversion kit installed, so wheels, tyres, suspension, interior, or engine work should be ready for Nakai-San to assemble the car.

The build of the car usually takes 2-3 days depending on the type of conversion kit you ordered. This can take place at our premises and we will advise you what to have prepared. The final step is the Rauh-Welt windscreen sun strip and the naming of the car. Nakai-San would have got to know the owner and depending on the vibes he picks up, he will give your car a distinct name.
You are now ready to hit the road and enjoy the drive of your life!
